Example 1:
Kelly Kinney who printed her resume on her t-shirt after she was inspired by one that said "Unemployed"
Example 2:
Paul Nawrocki had been laid off at age 59 and was finding it extremely difficult to land a new job. He went "old-school" and stuck his resume on a sandwich board.
Example 3:
Aleksey Vayner, a Yale student who posted a video resume on YouTube. (Catch a snippet here)
More recently, I came across an article about a guy by the name of Alec Brownstein and it tugged my interest (and funny bones). He was a frustrated copywriter who wanted to find a job as a creative director. In his unhappy state, he used to google his own name at work for fun, and figured that other people did the same.
He searched for the top five creative directors in advertising, and bought their names on Google AdWords. His advertised message was: “Hey, [creative director’s name]: Gooogoling [sic] yourself is a lot of fun. Hiring me is fun, too [with a link to his website].”
A little shameless, but it worked! Four out of five of the creative directors contacted him and now he works at a big international advertising agency.
Inspiring isn't it? :)
